# roark customer-flow edge-case update

> Update an edge case

Updates an edge case's title, persona, environment, brief, preceded-by link or expectations. Omitted fields are left alone; `additionalExpectations` replaces the set wholesale rather than appending. Promoting it to the happy path is a separate call, since that also demotes the incumbent.

```bash Synopsis theme={"theme":{"light":"everforest-light","dark":"everforest-dark"}}
roark customer-flow edge-case update <flow-id> <edge-case-id> [options]
```

> [!NOTE]
>
> Calls `PUT /v1/customer-flow/{flowId}/edge-case/{edgeCaseId}`

## Arguments

**flow-id** `string` *required*

The flow-id.

**edge-case-id** `string` *required*

The edge-case-id.

## Options

**--title** `string`

**--environment-id** `string`

**--prompt** `string`

**--preceded-by-customer-flow-id** `string`

**--preceded-by-customer-flow-variant-id** `string`

**--include-flow-expectations** `switch`

Whether this edge case is graded on the flow's agentExpectations as well as its own additionalExpectations. Defaults to true; false grades it on its additionalExpectations only.

**--persona-override-id** `string`

The persona this runs as. Null on an edge case inherits the happy path's.

**--additional-expectations** `array`

The expectations graded on this variant only, on top of the flow's own. Sent as the complete set: it replaces whatever the variant had, so omit it to leave the set alone and send \[] to clear it. Improv flows only: a scripted variant's expectations come from the agent turns on its path and are rewritten on every graph edit.

## Example

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"everforest-light","dark":"everforest-dark"}}
roark customer-flow edge-case update <flow-id> <edge-case-id>
```

Every command also takes the [global options](/cli-reference/overview.md#global-options) and sets one
of the [exit codes](/cli-reference/overview.md#exit-codes).
