# roark customer attribute update

> Set a field on a customer

Sets the value and locks the field, so newer conversations cannot change it.

```bash Synopsis theme={"theme":{"light":"everforest-light","dark":"everforest-dark"}}
roark customer attribute update <customer-profile-id> <key> [options]
```

> Calls `PUT /v1/customer/{customerProfileId}/attributes/{key}`

## Arguments

**customer-profile-id** `string` *required*

The customer-profile-id.

**key** `string` *required*

The key.

## Options

**--value** `string` *required*

The new value. Setting a field locks it, so newer conversations cannot change it.

## Example

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"everforest-light","dark":"everforest-dark"}}
roark customer attribute update <customer-profile-id> <key> --value <value>
```
